ABSTRACT

Morinda (Rubiaceae), including the species Morinda citrifolia L., is made up of around 80 species. M. citrifolia L., commonly called Indian Mulberry, or Noni, is a small tropical evergreen shrub or tree indigenously found in open coastal regions at sea level and in forest areas up to about 1 300 feet above sea level. These include anti-bacterial, antiviral, and anti-cancer activities as well as analgesic effects. The increasing use of noni products as dietary supplements suggested an urgent need to isolate and identify major compounds from noni plant.

Keywords: Morinda, Noni, anti-bacterial, anti-cancer.
