ABSTRACT
The aim of the present work was to formulate and evaluate the sustained release tablets of Repaglinide by using hydrophilic natural and synthetic polymers to produce sustained therapeutic impact by continually releasing the drug over a lengthy period of time following delivery of single dosage. The % drug content of all the formulated tablets were found within the limit. % drug content value of Repaglinide was within 98.98±0.23% to 99.65±0.41%. The results within the range indicate uniform of mixing. The tablet swelling index (F1 to F6) was assessed and the findings are presented. Hydration of F1 to F3 ranges from 55.65 to 99.10, F4 to F6 hydration of F4 to F6 from 73.32 to 99.45, F4 were hydrated maximum an extent of 73.32, 88.85, 99.45, and 107.85 after 2, 4, 8 and 12 hrs. In vitro mucoadhesive strength was carried out by using self-fabricated instrument. In Vitro mucoadhesive strength of formulation F1, F2, F3, F4, F5 and F6 was found 1.45, 1.32, 2.65, 2.85, 2.45 and 2.35 respectively.
